About

Nice to meet you! I’m Brian Doolittle González. I grew up in a small town outside of San Francisco, California, and my introduction to the arts is completely due to my family. My mother’s side of the family is all artists, so I grew up around graphic, instrumental, and vocal art. My first love was playing the Piano, and eventually, I moved on to Clarinet, Tenor Saxophone, and Bass Clarinet. It was through my time in orchestras and bands that I was introduced to musical theatre, and I immediately fell in love. Within four years, I went from having performed in one or two shows ever, to having performed in over twenty shows in the Bay Area.

About two years ago, I ventured outside of the Bay Area to begin studying at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee in hopes of earning my B.F.A. in Musical Theatre! I still regularly come back to California, but most of my time is spent on the East Coast (or if I’m lucky, visiting my mom’s family in Spain).

I’ve been lucky enough to bring my love of instrumental music and graphic art into my love for theatre by stepping onto the other side of the table and joining several creative teams of musicals (and some plays) as a Music Director, Conductor, and Director.

If I’m not onstage or behind the table, I can be found in the audience of a show doing production photos or attempting (and failing) to make latte art. I was taught to take photos by my Grandma when I was very young, and since then I’ve started my own freelance photography business. I offer Headshot, Dance, Theatre, Wedding, and Event photography services!

It’s no secret that the arts are a very difficult career path but, for me, there’s something about the ability to speak to people individually, but all at once, that is mesmerizing. The fact that three hundred people can sit in a theatre and watch one play and then leave feeling things so different and specific to their own lives baffles me, and on top of that, the idea that I can participate in sharing the stories of those who couldn’t share their own or share stories never heard before and contribute to making people feel things is the main reason I’ve continued to pursue a career in theatre.

Thanks for stopping by!

- Brian :)
